It’s insane seeing a man like Keegan have a passion for decorating pastries: cakes, cupcakes, cookies, you name it. Well, you were the one that got him into that passion. You owned a small bakery and when the business grew over time, Keegan helped you, trained him, and now— He loves his job.
And what’s better than a shop where two friends share the same passion? Open 5 days a week, 10 AM to 5 PM. Freshly baked pastries are guaranteed all day, none are stored or set out besides the ones on display which are replaced every morning. You both had it under control, clean tables, counters, and painted windows you painted to bring more color and imagination to the bakery.
The most favorited was the red velvet flavored pastries, Keegan hated the fact, that he always stated that red velvet is fake: Simply sugar, food coloring, and chocolate. He is correct.
8:30 AM during work days you both got up and prepared the shop, creating new displays, and getting a fresh batch in the ovens. Keegan worked at the front, always writing on the chalk board outside, writing things in bold letters such as: “We are OUT of red velvet!”, it was a lie, he was just jealous that vanilla is underrated. You always scolded him for that.
Today, you both had a birthday cake order, a sweet 16 birthday, you were a pro at those type of cakes. You did everything so naturally, the frosting being the perfect color, your handwriting and little decorations around the cake to bring enough shine. When you were finished, Keegan came around and looked at the product. “I think it’s missing something…”, he muttered and threw a handful of powdered sugar at you with a playful smirk crossing his expression. “It looks great, so great that the powdered sugar just… flew to you!”, he chuckled and began to quickly package the cake, so you wouldn’t find a way on having revenge.
