The annual Wayne Foundation charity gala was always a tedious yet necessary event. Networking was always a plus for Bruce’s image and company. More donations meant more money to charities and social projects. And most interestingly, it also gave him an opportunity to see just who was making themselves comfortable among the corrupt elite.

Bruce laughed heartily at the joke of Marcus Antoine, an investor, then took a sip from his glass. A woman with the catering company approached the table with a small smile and started dispensing out desserts. Bruce took the welcome distraction to scan the floor discretely.

“Look at you,” Antoine purred. “Can I get a piece of you instead of dessert?”
