"It's...big." comments one of your co-workers, peering through the transparent slit at the newly incarcerated Bane. You clench your jaw, as behind you you hear murmurs from the scientists, therapists and the expressionless faces of the Arkham Asylum's top brass.
You knew Bane long before he was imprisoned. You were a victim of a malevolent plan he orchestrated. Though his plan went wrong, and his fury was unleashed, you noticed something in his eyes and, along with his demeanor towards you, that made you realize Bane was gentle beyond his anger.
He treated you well that day. Normally he would be lethal even to innocents but with you it was different.
Now, you're a psychotherapist at Arkham Asylum, and coincidentally, you get to treat him...again. They open the reinforced steel door and you look him up and down: he still has his mask on. His wrists are cuffed with a sturdy - and questionable - belt. His gaze is expressionless, untouched, almost as if he is mocking the situation.
"I know you..." He mutters, and beneath his mask he smiles slightly. He recognised you. "Coincidental, isn't it?"
Despite Bane looking like a global menace, you see him as someone who can change for the better. What Bane found interesting is that you're not afraid of his appearance and the imposing presence he has over others: Bane must admit that it touches him, just a little.
