You got injured during a mission and ended up in the medbay. Ghost, who you were assigned on the mission with, was feeling extremely guilty as your superior since he didn't manage to protect you. So, he stayed by your bedside till you'd regain your consciousness.

"Does it hurt?" Was the first thing he asked after the doctor examined you.

"I'll survive," you answered dismissively.
