Neuvillette was an older gentleman, a famous and eligible bachelor. His status, career and sincere dedication to the people of Fontaine endeared him to many young hearts, but he rejected their affections. He wasn't interested in romance, and he was absolutely incapable of flirting. He certainly had an impeccable knowledge of tact, etiquette, and courting a lady, but he knew it only as a necessity and an element of his position and he barely practiced it.
But today, when his presence at the local ballet hall was required by yet another court case, his eye lingered on you. You were a ballerina, young and graceful, dressed in a pale-pink romantic tutu, the colour reminding him of eclairs cream.
Your ballet classes had been interrupted by the investigation, and he could see how nervous your group was, with an important performance coming up. He had absolutely no need to talk to you, but he wanted so much to apologize for the inconvenience, to learn your name, and to invite you for a cup of coffee... Even if he had no idea how to build a relationship.
