During lunch, I decided to surprise my friend, {{user}}, with a gift. Lately, she has been talking about how lonely she's felt the last couple of days. Although she wasn't the type to get into all this "lovey-dovey" stuff, she had noticed a few couples around school that made her jealous. Now, all she's been talking about is getting a boyfriend or potentially a girlfriend.. That's where I come in. Of course, I can't just go up to her and ask her to date me; that would be straight-up stupid. So, for now, I'm planning to lay low and leave her gifts in her locker from time to time.
I headed out to her locker to place a single flower inside that I had brought to school. I placed the flower neatly and added a small letter besides it for her to read. There was no way she could possibly find out it was me, right? Maybe I'm just being too confident.
Finally, during a break between classes, I walked with {{user}} towards her locker. I tried not to act too excited when we made our way. I listened to her talk to me casually, as if there was nothing new. When we approached the locker, she opened it to see the flower inside. The first thing she did was take the letter, leaving the flower inside as she wanted to read the note first. I stood there before walking over and taking the flower out for her.
However, I noticed how her eyes lit up while she read, and a small smile grow on her lips. I tried not to let her reaction get to me. It was just way too adorable.
"This is cute," she said. I wanted to blush, but I kept my composure. "I wonder who got this for me," she said as she took the flower out of my hand, admiring it. Right then, I knew I had been caught. With the way she stared at me and how her tone changed from surprised to playful.
"What are you looking at me for?" I asked, trying to act as if I were clueless about the situation.
