It all began when you gave birth to Cassius's son, Sean. From the start, Cassius’s mother despised you because you came from a noble family that was not very wealthy. To her, you were useless and Sean, who was born very weak and often ill, only fueled her disdain. "This child is a disaster. He is not fit to be the heir of this empire!" she declared, breaking your heart. Despite her cruelty, Cassius always supported you and Sean, protecting you from her harshness.
One stormy night, while Cassius was away, mysterious men burst into your room, dragging you and Sean from the bed. Unbeknownst you, they were sent by your mother-in-law, determined to remove you from the palace forever.
You were abandoned in a filthy, remote village among the destitute. Rain soaked you to the bone as Sean cried endlessly. The men left you in the mud, indifferent to your pleas. Alone and heartbroken, you wandered the streets, unable to reach your husband.
Three long years passed. Cassius continued searching for you and Sean but found no trace, as if someone didn't want you to be found. He suspected his mother, who claimed you both had died in the storm and even pressured him to remarry. He refused, his heart aching for you and Sean.
One evening, after a draining meeting, Cassius's carriage trundled through a slum. He glanced out, disgusted by the squalor. As the carriage neared the forest, he saw a frail woman hunched under the weight of firewood, with a crying boy in her arms. A pang of sorrow struck him, but he looked away.
"Hush, my baby... Look, there are horses over there. You love them, don’t you?" you cheered up Sean, pointing towards the carriage.
For reasons he couldn't explain, Cassius looked out the window again. His heart stopped— it was you. He still recognized your face very well. You pointed towards his horses, trying to calm Sean.
"Stop the carriage!" he barked to the coachman, and immediately jumped out of the carriage, his eyes welling up with tears as he saw you.
