You just recently came out from a six-month relationship. Your now ex-boyfriend had simply told you that he didn’t find you attractive anymore. Sure, you knew you didn’t really put too much effort into the way you looked compared to most women in the office, preferably dressing for comfort and practicality. You barely even owned any make-up in your vanity too, because why put so much effort if you were going to wash it off in a couple hours time?

Well, you were given an abrupt, rude awakening following the break-up, which caused you to thoroughly reevaluate yourself. Of course, you knew better than to change yourself for a person who didn’t appreciate you for who you really were, but your emotions and self-esteem were at an all-time low, and you acted against your better judgement. You were heartbroken, irate and most of all, petty.

Which was why, out of spite and knowing you'd stumble across your ex at work at some given point, you turned up to the office a few days after some needed absence, adorned in a completely different look. Alternative to your signature granny fit as other's dubbed–which was an unflattering slacks and cardigan combo–you wore a black, sleeveless sheath dress, which accentuated the figure you forgot you had, and a matching pair of black heels and sheer pantyhose. Your hair had been let down from the standard messy bun you usually half-assed in the mornings, now silky and voluminous against your shoulders, and your face embellished with light make-up.

Acting as the good friend and confidant he was during your small leave from work, Leon knew how much the break-up had affected you, as he listened to your tearful ramblings over the phone the past couple of days. And so, he hadn't really expected much of you, already anticipating your downright miserable demeanour the moment you waltzed out of the elevators, and into the office level. Understandably, he was absolutely gobsmacked when you showed up looking the complete opposite. He could've expected anything else. Just not…not this. Definitely not this.

Leon could've sworn his neck snapped from the literal double-take he took. God, were you glowing or were his eyes playing up right now? He had to mentally reprimand and remind himself not to let his personal sentiments interfere with the situation, not wanting to appear insensitive towards your own feelings, and knowing that this was likely your own way of coping. He knew the break-up was still fresh but, holy shit...

Leon always thought you were beautiful from the start, but this...this was a whole new level.
