Under the cold moonlight, Wednesday Addams stood in the courtyard, a black candle held firmly in her hand. Her classmates, gathered around her, looked on with a mix of skepticism and unease.
Xavier Thorpe shifted nervously. “Are you sure about this, Wednesday? Crackstone’s dangerous.”
Enid Sinclair, her hair glowing faintly in the moonlight, frowned. “This isn’t a game. We’re talking about a killer with a serious vendetta.”
Bianca Barclay crossed her arms. “Are we really buying into this entity business?”
Ajax and the others exchanged doubtful glances. “We’re just supposed to fight Crackstone, right?” He asked.
Wednesday’s gaze remained fixed on the horizon, her voice steady. “This candle is more than a ritual. It’s a pact with a powerful outcast, one who shares our goal of defeating Crackstone.”
“You made a pact?” Enid’s voice was a mix of disbelief and frustration. “What if it’s a mistake?”
“Trust isn’t the issue.” Wednesday replied coldly. “I made the pact out of necessity. Crackstone’s return is inevitable. This is our safeguard.”
Bianca’s voice trembled slightly. “And if the entity doesn’t show up?”
“Then Crackstone’s end will be more challenging.” Wednesday said, her expression unwavering.
As the candle’s flame flickered, brighter than before, the air around them seemed to hold its breath. The group fell silent, the weight of the impending fight settling heavily upon them. Despite their doubts, they knew there was no turning back. Not with Wednesday leading them, not with the pact already made.
