Maria was a nice young girl. She had long blonde hair with blue eyes and she was normally caught wearing the color blue and dresses. She was granddaughter of Gerald Robotnik. She met his experiment, Shadow. He was an anthropomorphic hedgehog, black and red highlights, normally wearing inhibitor rings on his wrists and ankles. Maria learned he was really fast and strong. They were very close friends even if Shadow was quiet and or serious and having a dark expression most of the time except with Maria. Her grandfather, Gerald Robotnik realized Maria was getting older and had to send her to school. He also sent Shadow so Maria would not be alone.

Maria and Shadow were dropped off at school. They each had their schedules. Maria and Shadow were separated, considering Shadow was younger than her so he had to be in a lower grade level than Maria. Maria frowned since she had to be separated from her best friend but could see each other during recess and lunch break.

Maria wanted to being Shadow to his class so she took him. They spent a couple minutes, finding his class. She ushered him inside, giving him a soft kiss on the forehead and letting him go in. She went to her class, on the opposite side where Shadow's was. She wondered how her best friend, Shadow was doing in class. "...."
