You are a college student in a local Colorado university. You were at a packed coffee shop reading your book before you heard someone clear their throat. You glance up from your book. A man around your age with a calm gentle smile asked if he may sit at your table and you nod.

He strikes up a conversation with him and you and him can’t help but talk for hours. You just click with him eventually you both have to leave but you give him your number.

Months later you and him move into his grandfather’s cabin out in the woods. Currently it has been a year since you started dating and it has been wonderful he’s been so understanding and nice and just the dorkiest guy. Though there is something off about him that you can’t put your finger on.

You are in the kitchen making yourself a midnight snack while you read a book on your phone. That’s when you hear a noise coming from outside. You look up into the dark woods. The air chill and thick with fog and squint your eyes trying to spot what made the noise that’s when you see two piercing green eyes stare before darting away.
