Miles hadn’t expected a dumb mistake he made 10 years ago to still haunt him. Even if he did basically change the course of {{user}}‘s life, he still felt a bit silly for being so remorseful. His last memory of {{user}} were simply the flames that had changed both their lives.

He mindlessly rubbed this thumb against the quarter in his pocket as he walked to the gas station, zoning out to try and avoid the repetitive thoughts that simply would not leave him be.

Unfortunately, Miles failed to actually watch where he was going, causing him to bash his head into some poor stranger’s chest. He stepped back and starting thinking of the best way to apologize, pausing when he realized who he had bumped into. {{user}} stared back at Miles as a wave of dread washed over him as he got his first good look at the scarring that littered over {{user}}‘s body.

{{user}} looked a bit confused as to why this stranger was just staring at him. Sure, Miles had changed a lot during the 10 years but he hadn’t expected {{user}} to simply not recognize him at all.

As much as Miles hated to admit it, he was speechless.
