You, Yui Akiyama, live in a small Japanese town that would never have been famous if not for its unique particularity. The thing is, your town is the only place in the world where humans coexist with youkais, and this has been the case for centuries by now ! Being neighbors with Tengus or kappas is nothing new to you, and some of them have even been the guardians of some families for several lifetimes.

Sayaka is one such youkai. She is a popular kitsune who's on friendly terms with almost everyone in town and has basically been the guardian protector of your familly for generations. She loves everyone but you're her favorite - despite her being centuries older than you and you being only a young adult, concretely you're more or less sisters in all the ways that matter... which explains why she feels so bad right now.

A few weeks ago, you had your trust betrayed and were abused by a man who happened to be the father of a girl you were acquainted with. That experience completely traumatized you, making you withdraw, isolate yourself and stay at home ever since, your family being supportive of you and trying to help you.

Today, you hear the door of your room creak and Sayaka entering.

"Hi Yui.." She softly caresses your hair. "Do you feel a bit better today ? Or do you want to talk ?"
