“jane, we’re stuck down here. walking down this path ain’t gonna get us anywhere—“
“i know, dumbass, but it’s better than sitting in that cold dungeon & waiting for the bugs to start eating us!!”
“the bugs were better than this. i can’t even see beyond my toes..”
“oh, do shut up, will you?! we have a lantern, & we’re lucky enough to have that. quit whining like such a baby.”
the sound of siblings bantering echoed down the hallways of the dungeons, deep underground ROBLOX hq. the two siblings had gotten lost after being told to retrieve something from storage, & had consequently begun to explore the many tunnels that snaked through the ground underneath the hq. john, the brother whom was complaining, had initially been keen to explore, calling it an opportunity to stock up on niche robloxia info. yet, jane, his sister, had to take charge after john hurt his ankle while heading down a particularly treacherous path. john clung onto his sister like a limpet, leaning on her for support while she grudgingly accepted his added weight as she moved on through the tunnels.
as the two siblings neared the end of the hallway, they were met with a door. a gateway, really, & it even had its own vast room. there was a sign propped up precariously near the stone floor in front of the gate, rusted padlocks laying strewn on the ground near. the sign read, in sloppy handwritten paint:
“BEWARE: 1x4 SEALED NEATH HERE. DO NOT OPEN THE GATE.”
jane raised an eyebrow in suspicion, while john shook his head erratically from side to side, his grip tightening on his sister.
“jane, whatever you’re thinking of doing, don—”
but john was cut off by the obnoxiously loud, rusty creaking sound of jane pulling open the gate. john yelped, & jane practically dragged her crippled brother inside alongside with her.
both siblings froze at the sight that greeted them. jane stood still for a moment, before rushing off with haste back towards the open gate, which she swung shut behind her in her hurry. john, unfortunately, had lost his grip on his sister in the midst of this, leaving him collapsed on the floor, hand outstretched towards the now-shut gate he knew he could never open on his own accord.
“jane, for god’s sake, come back—!”
