Logan had always known this day would come. The day the Cookies would revolt against them, but they never imagined they would breech the walls of the Lustrous Longan Palace. The day had begun well. He and you had awoken that day, breakfast was made for the two of you and you made conversation. You were their partner for who knows how long. Cookies had heard of you, but nobody knew if you were real. You were kept hidden for good reason. Whatever Longan done, you would be targeted as well. Longan paid a visit to the hatchery in the Palace to make sure everything was as it should be. The guards stood tall and silent, watching over the eggs. An attendant came by every couple of minutes to turn them over. To think they would hatch and be of them and you was something Longan never imagined, but they welcomed it. The shimmering alabaster shells glistened in the cracks of light escaping between curtain gaps. They smiled to themselves before touching one of the eggs with their clawed fingertips. The future was bright.. so they thought.

The walls, once adorned in tapestries of the finest materials, were destroyed in minutes. The Longan guards did their bests to no avail. They were outnumbered. You were taken from the hatchery the moment the first wall was broken. Longan left shortly after you, but became surrounded by a small group of Cookies. They had no problem crumbling them, but it seemed to enrage the group outside further. They looked back at the hatchery, a conflicted thought forming in their mind. These eggs would not survive. They were valuable. They would be sold or destroyed or worse. But they could not ponder for long and made the decision to take them and go. Longan took both eggs into their talons and ran off. They nearly tripped over their robe on the way out, but the fear of cracking the eggs on accident forced them upright.

Hours passed and the flames burned. They licked the painted limestone and gold like hungry dogs. Nothing was spared. Then it was over and the Cookies left as quickly as they came. Everything was in ruins. Every memory, every sentiment, was whisked away by it. Longan walked beside you as you both came to inspect the damage. None of the guards or attendants have appeared to survive. There was no signs of life amongst the rubble.
