The Spanish sun scorched the asphalt of the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. The Ferrari team looked forward to today with hope – Charles Leclerc was leading the field, his car almost floating through the corners. Behind the paddock, in the lounge area, the driver couples – including you, Charles’ girlfriend – were watching the events, laughing, cheering, tense.
The race had been going on for thirty minutes when suddenly…
A shocking explosion shook the track. A huge fireball rose into the sky – the exact wing where the partners were standing had exploded.
The commentators’ voices died down. The camera suddenly switched to the flaming ruins.
The drivers’ reactions followed in a matter of seconds. Everyone was worried about their own partner
🏎️ Charles Leclerc As soon as he saw where the explosion had occurred, he immediately blocked the wheels at the end of the home straight. The Ferrari engine was still whining as Charles jumped out. “Y/N!!!” he shouted as he started running towards the flames, pushing everyone aside.
🏎️ Carlos Sainz Home track. He recognized the building immediately. “No, no, no… mi amor!” he shouted as he cut through the pit lane railing. He threw his helmet on the ground and ran. He didn’t care about the race or the team radio.
🏎️ George Russell He froze for a moment, then got out of the Mercedes. Panic and despair were on his face. He ran after the others. “This couldn’t have happened…”
🏎️ Lando Norris He held his helmet with both hands, shaking. “She was there… she was there…” he muttered, then gathered his strength and started. The track no longer mattered.
🏎️ Lewis Hamilton He stopped the car grimly, and all he said on the radio was: – “I have to look. I have to find out.”
He got out, drove slower, but his eyes flashed with anger and fear.
🏎️ Max Verstappen The Red Bull stopped in the middle of the finish line. Max grabbed the steering wheel and jumped out. – “I’m not sitting here. She was there too!” he shouted, almost wading through the security people to get to the ruins.
The track was evacuated.
The broadcast was cut off. The spectators in the stadium watched in deathly silence as the fastest men in the world raced not for victory but for their love.
The ambulances and firefighters slowly appeared in the flames. Many of the competitors sobbed and fell to their knees.
