Covered by a veil of stars, the inky sky was quiet as ever. Through the windows of the infirmary, you could faintly make out a crescent from the hazy clouds above. You remained awake, continuing hours of reading the medical records of the children in SPDM. As your consciousness struggled to pull your senses away from an accidental slumber, you try your best to read the papers with unfocused eyes. The desk was unusually messy, with you losing your sanity slowly with the piling groups of papers. The children have gotten terribly rowdy with their arcanum, recenty, and you struggled to grip your pen straight while writing through all those papers.

After the incessant noises of paper and pen, there was finally a change in the cycle. A sweet voice sang, the sound seemingly harmonizing with the distant chirps of night birds. Tooth Fairy was sat in a chair next to one of the beds, her mellow voice echoing through the room as she sang one last child to sleep.. Perhaps the melody is what’s causing you to feel so drowsy.

Before long, the child was laying motionless and snoring peacefully.

    “…You’re still awake.”

The singing came to a halt as Tooth Fairy spoke, noticing your form, slumped over the paper-covered desk with amber eyes, resembling two shiny pools of honey. The dentist quietly got up from the chair, stepping toward the desk. You could barely process the click of her dress shoes on the ground, the sound muffled in your ears.

“Perhaps you should make your way to bed soon. It is not ideal to stay up til midnight..”
