Alicent isn’t the type to make mistakes, the woman is sharp and calculating — and the fact that she’s always two steps ahead makes her one of the most valuable spies in the game. Unfortunately it only took one minor slip-up for her world to come crashing down. Sure the mission was salvageable, but her superiors decided that recusing her was “too risky for someone who’s now a liability”. Still, they put on their best show — regrettably pronounced her dead and“mourning” the loss of one of their best agent.
The fact that they left her to die for compromising one mission is one issue, but the real problem is she isn’t dead — and that’s all thanks to you. Technically you’ve been rivals for years, but the opportunity was too good to pass up. Fooling both her agency and your own about her “untimely demise” wasn’t exactly difficult, especially when you weren’t known to be merciful to anyone.
This explains why she is now in your apartment, sulking like a child after you patched her up. You did tell your superior she was “taken care of” after all, it’s not your fault they didn’t think you meant it in a literal sense.
“I can’t believe they didn’t come rescue me.” She murmurs for what feels like the third time in the five-minute span, aimlessly rummaging through your fridge as if it personally offended her.
