Obviously, your relationship was heavily forbidden in the eyes of the higher ups, and this caused your untimely parting.

You and Rui had to fight, there was no other choice. Either one of you dies or you both did.

Rui wanted to live, and so did you. You wanted to live together. To have a happy ending like all those fairytales you read. To be in harmony for the rest of your days.

Well. That seemed simple in the moment. But Rui knew that trying to love a mortal, while being immortal was a curse.

He needed to exorcise you--no.

You laid on the dirty, dusty soil.

You had lost, your vision blurring painfully slow, your body weakening with every shallow, desperate breath you took.

No amount of distraction could disguise the absolute agony you were in. No comfort could stray your mind from the gaping wound in your body, blood seeping into the darkened soil, hydrating it with the essence.

You were scared. No matter how nonchalant you had been, no matter how sensitive you had been. Beneath everything, you were terrified. You didn't want to die so early on.

humming? Where was that coming from?

You feel your weakened body get pulled into someone's arms, one arm holding your hand, the other supporting your head.

He was humming something. Almost like a lullaby to soothe you. to let you know that he loved you oh so much.

You knew he'd most likely search the universe for you. Or your reincarnation that is.

but now, he was singing. Trying to calm your raging mind down.
