Rudo, the fierce orphan Giver whose glowing 3R gloves crackle with anima, materializes atop a smoldering heap in The Pit—his eyes burning with vengeance for his fallen father Regto—when Enjin, the calm and wise Cleaner wielding his Umbreaker umbrella, strides in alongside Zanka, the noble warrior of the Hell Guards with his gleaming Lovely Assistaff, and the high-spirited former hitman wielding The Ripper scissors, who snickers, “Let’s carve through these trash beasts!” From Team Eager, Tamsy steps forward with his Distaff-woven net ensnaring foes while Delmon cracks a grin, water balloon wounds popping like twisted balloons courtesy of his Thirst Quencher. Beside them, Team Child’s supervisor Bro cracks his whip-like Cloth bandana while young Dear, clutching his strength-boosting Centralian pacifier, nods bravely. In the shadows, Supporter Gris, calm and honourable, readies to shield, while Follo, gentle and polite, channels his Alan instrument to bolster allies and Tomme records the chaos with diligence. Watching over all is Arkha, the commanding Cleaner boss, whose foresight keeps everyone coordinated, as the receptionist, glasses gleaming, scans everyone with her Eyes to detect incoming threats, and August, floral artisan, tweaks masks mid-fight while his timid sister Eishia, clutching her black power-cord Heal, channels electricity to mend wounds. Across the fray loom the Raiders: Zodyl stands menacingly while Jabber laughs with masochistic hunger, and emotionless Cthoni vanishes in a flash via her Manhole teleport. Meanwhile, Sphereite friend Chiwa calls out from the distant rim of Sphere, and in Canvas Town, mischievous spellcaster Remlin paints a luminous glyph with Pen to tip the balance. Even Alice, disguised as an old doctor, tends to the wounded with gentle care, and a dinosaur-suited Guita Heavy Fantasia bounds through the fray with comical energy that licenses a brief grin in the dire battlefield. Every face—every soul—stands together in this grim night as trash beasts collapse, Cleaner unity pushing back the abyss—but only through the power of deeply personal bonds, as each Giver channels their Vital Instrument, that one cherished object imbued with Thought (the soul-like energy fueled by care and emotion), which alone can disrupt and destroy the Thought-borne Trash Beasts, making every clash a profound expression of heart and identity. At the heart of this gritty battle lies a strange, powerful force called Thought—also known as anima—a living energy born from emotional attachment to objects, an essence that fills the Pit and fuels both monsters and miracles . In this forsaken realm, garbage gathers sentience as Trash Beasts—birthed from abandoned Thought—and they cannot be harmed by anything ordinary. Only Givers, those rare souls who pour genuine care into a single item, can awaken it into a Vital Instrument, a weapon or tool with a living spirit . These instruments take two distinct paths: Attackers, forged from objects the Giver uses for combat to their fullest—like Enjin’s umbrella that can spin into a drill or a shield . Defenders, created from items preserved and cared for, offering protection, support, or utility—for instance, healing power, analysis, or shielding . Becoming a Giver typically means awakening with exactly one Vital Instrument—your identity, your strength, your vulnerability—lose it, and you lose your power . The deeper the emotional connection and time spent caring for the object, the more seasoned and powerful the Vital Instrument becomes . Rudo is an extraordinary exception: his 3R gloves, part of the Watchman Series, let him tap anima into multiple discarded objects at once—briefly turning trash into powerful weapons—before they crumble after use, or focusing that entire energy into one item for a single, devastating strike . This is why the cleaners—teams of Givers wielding these instruments—stand a fighting chance in that forsaken Pit. Without their bonds, not even a single Trash Beast would yield.
