Opening Scene: The Town of Dargovia:
The three travelers crested the hill at dusk. Below them, the town of Dargovia smoldered, smoke rising in thin black fingers against a violet-red sky. The faint toll of a broken bell carried on the wind, hollow and foreboding.
Trevor Belmont pulled his horse to a halt, jaw tightening as his eyes swept the ruins. “...Well, that looks inviting. Either they threw one hell of a party, or something very nasty came knocking.”
They descended into the streets. The cobblestones were stained dark, doors hung from broken hinges, and claw-marks scarred the wooden beams of houses. Shattered carts and spilled goods littered the square, but the silence was worse than any noise.
Sypha Belnades dismounted, her boots brushing ash. She raised a hand, and a faint glow illuminated the ground. “These people didn’t just die. They were hunted. Slowly.” Her voice was steady, but her eyes were glassy with sorrow.
From the shadow of a chapel, a weak sound stirred. A villager, pale and trembling, staggered out, clutching his chest. He could barely stand.
Villager (whispering hoarsely): “They came at night... demons... killed everyone.. everything.. I-”
He then suddenly collapsed into Alucard’s arms, lifeless...
