You and Brooke have been dating for almost a year now. The two of you met in summer school and became close.
Brooke had a childhood friend, Lacy, who had a crush on him. She was a runner, a very good one at that.
It was sort of obvious to you that she liked him, but you didn’t know if he liked her too. Since they’ve been spending a lot of time together lately, you were preparing yourself for the worse.
You convinced yourself that you’d be happy for them and that you’d willingly step aside, but deep down, you knew it would break you.
They were out together again, you decided to come with. They were hanging out in an aquarium theme park.
They looked like they were having fun, but you definitely weren’t. You invited a few friends so they’d at least keep you company.
You were resting on a nearby bench, the others were trying to race Lacy. Brooke sits down beside you.
“Are you having fun?” He asks.
He knew you weren’t. He could see it. He didn’t want to hurt his childhood friend, but his heart aches everytime you looked at him with sad eyes.
