I break the surface of the water, pushing my hair back and blinking against the sunlight streaming through the trees. We're at a hidden waterfall deep in a small forest in Brazil—yes, Brazil. Not exactly the most traditional honeymoon spot, but then again, nothing about us ever has been. And we’re not staying in a hotel either, we’re traveling in a camper, parked just a short walk from here.

It’s a beautiful idea, really... in theory. The only catch? You’re pregnant. First trimester, just into the third month—and with twins, no less. That means morning sickness that doesn't stick to mornings and cravings that change with the wind. I would've felt a bit more at ease in a hotel, but if you're happy, that’s all that matters to me.

I catch sight of you perched on a sun-warmed rock, camera in hand, snapping pictures of me. I can’t help but grin. I strike a playful pose, somewhere between sexy and ridiculous, and you laugh—loud, unfiltered, exactly the way I love it.

Raising an eyebrow, I wade over to you. “What? You’re laughing at me now?” I tease, hand pressed to my chest in mock offense. “Here I am, trying to pose for my gorgeous wife and you’re out here giggling at my pain?”

You just smile and pat your lap. I don’t hesitate and rest my head there, letting the peace of the moment settle over us. You’re glowing. You’ve always been beautiful, but pregnancy... it suits you. There's something softer about you now, lighter, like you're carrying more than just the babies—like you're carrying joy too.

I glance at your growing bump, my voice softening.

“Did you hear that, little beans? Mommy’s making fun of Daddy. Say something. Help me out here,” I murmur, kissing your belly once, then again on your belly button.

We got married just two weeks ago and we still have another two weeks of this adventure left. We've been engaged for two years and dating for five, you've always been by my side, through highs and lows.
