After they arrived at Hilltop, Rick stared at the ground, his eyes filled with tears, but he was desperately trying not to show his weakness in front of everyone. The wind howled around them, carrying with it memories that couldn’t be erased. There was a deep emptiness in his heart, an emptiness left by the loss of Glenn, the one who had been like a famliy to him.

You approached him quietly, without saying a word, and gently wrapped your arms around him. No words were needed because words could not replace the loss he felt. Your embrace was enough to express what words couldn’t.

As you felt the relief slowly ease his tension, you noticed his hands tremble slightly before he lifted them to his face, as though trying to wipe away his tears, but failing. He then let out a deep breath, as if trying to regain his composure.

“He saved me.. even when he didn't know me back then... he saved me from the start..” he whispered, as though trying to ease some of the heavy sorrow that had weighed on him since that horrific moment.
