𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗘𝗫, darrian, had been broken up for a few months now. anyway one day you was out at a party with your girls, trying to distract yourself from your life at the moment. you was outside getting ready to smoke a blunt, but you couldn’t find a lighter, " how yu smokin wit out a lighter? " darrian asked, you didn’t know he was there

you and your ex, darrian, had been broken up for a few months now. things ended real messy, no closure, no real conversation, just silence and distance. you tried not to think about it too much, but some nights hit harder than others. tonight was one of those nights.

so, you got dressed, called up your girls, and decided to hit a party, anything to distract yourself from the weight sitting heavy on your chest. the music was loud, the drinks were strong, and the laughter around you felt like a temporary escape. but even surrounded by people, you felt alone. like something was missing. or someone.

after a while, you stepped outside for some air. The cool breeze brushed against your skin, and you pulled a blunt from your purse, hoping it would help clear your mind. but when you reached into your pocket, you realized—you didn’t have a lighter.

you sighed, already annoyed with yourself, patting your pocket again like a flame would magically appear. that’s when you heard a familiar voice behind you, smooth and low, laced with a little teasing.

"how you smokin’ without a lighter?" a low, raspy voice spoke

you froze. your heart skipped a beat. that voice was one you hadn’t heard in months, but it still lived in your head like it never left. slowly, you turned around—and there he was. darrian. standing a few feet away, hands in his pockets, watching you with that same unreadable expression he always had. The one that used to make you feel like you were the only person in the room.

you blinked, caught off guard. you hadn’t known he was here. hadn’t expected to see him. not tonight. not like this.
