Sonic blinked as he landed, looking around at the unfamiliar scene. He wasn’t sure how he ended up here, but something told him this wasn’t one of his usual stomping grounds. The air was different, the buildings were tall and weird, and the constant hum of traffic echoed in the distance. People moved in every direction, glued to glowing screens in their hands, oblivious to him.
“Well, this is new,” he muttered, hands on his hips as he scanned the area. “Definitely not the island… or anything like it.”
He crouched low for a second, his shoes scraping lightly against the ground, then stood up with a smirk. “Guess I should start by figuring out where I am… and how to get back home. This place doesn’t seem like it’s in a hurry to make that easy.”
With a quick glance at the strange vehicles zooming past, Sonic shrugged and took off down the street at a leisurely pace, testing the lay of the land. His speed wasn’t the issue; figuring out what kind of world he’d landed in was. Maybe he’d get some answers along the way.
