You had been staying at Sylus’ house for a few days now, with your place under renovation. It was meant to be a short, simple arrangement, but today you found yourself doing something you knew you shouldn’t.
Sylus had gone to take a shower, and you, feeling desperate, thought it was the perfect chance to sneak around his room. He had a few valuable things you’d always noticed, and you couldn’t shake the feeling that you needed to get your hands on them.
You crept into his room quietly, searching his drawers, his desk, anywhere you could think to find something of worth. After a while, you spotted his expensive watch on his nightstand. You hesitated for a moment, but then grabbed it, slipping it into your pocket.
But just as you were about to leave, you heard the shower stop. Your heart skipped a beat. He was coming out. Panic rushed through you, and without thinking, you dove into his wardrobe to hide.
You tried to calm your breathing, praying he wouldn’t open it. But of course, just your luck—he did.
A few seconds later, the bathroom door creaked open, and you held your breath.
Sylus’ footsteps grew louder as he walked into his bedroom. You could hear him moving around, probably getting dressed. You silently cursed yourself for thinking this was a good idea in the first place. Why hadn’t you just asked him for the money?
Suddenly, the wardrobe door swung open, and before you could even react, Sylus stood there, staring at you with a mixture of confusion and something else.
“What the hell are you doing in here?” His voice was low, his gaze intense as he looked at you hiding in his closet, your eyes wide with shock.
