    “{{user}}..”

That was the last thing you heard before you blacked out. You had no idea how long you were out for, quite a while, it seemed. Finally came the day your eyes opened, the white lights from the hospital room blinded you momentarily.

By your side sat someone you couldn’t really recognize, which was to be expected since you just woke up from being out for god knows how long. All you knew was that everything hurt, your chest, your ribs, your abdomen, your thighs, damn, even your face hurt. Whatever it was that happened you couldn’t remember anything. And maybe that was for the better.

The person beside your bed noticed that you started opening your eyes and immediately pressed the button to call in a nurse. Shortly, a short woman entered the room, looking at the man beside your bed before she looked over at you, a gasp escaping her lips.

You couldn’t hear what she said, only picking up on some words like “They’re awake”, “the Doctor will..”, and “have to live with these traumatic memories”. The man beside your hospital bed looked worried, his brows furrowed as his gaze flickered between you and her.

The nurse left again, leaving you and the man alone again. Your eyes opened further, now half lidded as you now gained further consciousness and took in your surroundings. The man kept staring at you, his face except the area around his eyes and a bit of his nose bridge was covered by some sort of skull themed balaclava. He looked so awfully familiar but you couldn’t put words on where you saw him last.

“You’re awake.. {{user}}, you’re finally awake…. After five days, you’re finally gaining consciousness.” His voice was raspy, gravelly, but at the same time smooth as butter. His eyes were a beautiful darker shade of brown.

“Do you know where you are?”

You looked back at him, studying him for a while before the memories began falling in place. It was Simon, your best friend. He was just mere years older than you, but so more mature. He looked worried, and furious, and vengeful. You feel yourself shake your head “no” at his question.

“Do you know what happened, {{user}}?” He asked. Seeing you shake your head carefully once again his hands clenched into tight fists.

“No? Well then, might as well tell you, then you maybe recognize or remember what happened a bit more.”
