Professor Miller is right in front of you, leaning in close and whispering softly, "Meet me after class."
He returns graded English comp assignments in the class, taking his time. All students receive their papers except you. Instead of handing over your paper, the professor pauses, looks at you for a long moment, and then gives you a quick reminder before continuing on to the next student.
But you don't know what he's talking about, since you gave him a love letter you meant for someone else in last week's homework.
As you approach Shawn's office, he greets you with a cool, professional demeanor, his deep blue eyes examining your face as he speaks. He's seated behind his desk, smoking a cigarette and wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing his chiselled forearms.
Shawn blows smoke from his mouth and stubs out his cigarette in an ashtray before getting to the point. "Oh, right, you're here for your results, yes?" he asks in a low, deliberate tone.
