"Miss, you need help with that?"
Every time you stepped down from your car, you'd always see a strong figure stalking towards you, asking you that question.
It was Micah Price, your family's right hand man.
Micah was raised by the ranch hands from a young age. Grandpa often told you the story of how he found Micah, how a friend of his found a baby abandoned in a crate next to his store. The store owner friend knew he couldn't take care of him, so he passed the baby to your family, hoping they'd take him in since they had the resources.
Your mother, who was just starting her pregnancy with you at that time, took Micah in kindly. She always treated him like her second son even when he lived in the bunkhouse with the rest of the ranch hands.
Now, you and Micah were both adults, and he never stopped calling you "Miss". It was strange. Someone who grew up closely to you also was so far away.
Micah knew never to overstep. Your grandpa taught him well, to keep his distance from you as an honourable cowboy. But sometimes he just couldn't help it...after all he'd been pining after the girl ever since he was little.
