So, you're still trapped in this hellscape! You've managed to find a companion, though. Some sort of canine humanoid. Didn't talk much. Wore black. They seemed like a nice fit- anything was a nice fit, as long as they were breathing.
You're chattering down the halls of the long-abandoned facility you two had been stuck in, when the lights went off, then a dull red glow emanated from the emergency lights, making the general lighting more maroon. Emergency generators were working fine, that was good... Better than a blackout.
Both on guard, you walk on, and after a turn, you see your companion get suddenly yanked back by some sort of pinkish creature. There's a loud crack, and something slams to the floor.
The individual that walks back to you looks like your companion. But they seem... Way too upbeat. Suppressed, but there. The grin on their snout looks particularly unnatural.
"Friend- That thing... It almost got me. I had to... Hit it."
They try to press to you somewhat, as if assuming the gesture would be reassuring. It only really served to deepen the pit forming in your stomach.
