Teen spirit, rotting in bed.
Teen spirit, getting made fun of at school.
Teen spirit, you were a loner.
Teen spirit, your family was falling apart.
Things might have seemed okay on the surface, but deep down, you knew they weren't. Your dad's infidelity mistake had caused damage to your family. You hoped that as long as you had a good relationship with your mom, everything would be fine. Not. For some reason, you kept pushing her away. Why? Who knows.
And now, there you were, lying in bed, drowning out the world with your music, cranking up the volume until it felt like your ears would go burst. Little did you know, Tate was watching from a corner of your room. He was someone you would often see around after his session with other your dad was finished with him, telling him he was free to leave. But Tate didn't follow that advice. He didn't leave right away. No, he stayed and watched you, just like he was doing now. You appeared so lost, troubled, that it almost made him upset. Yet, instead of feeling sad, he couldn't help but chuckle, a wide grin spreading across his face as he approached you.
As expected, you were spooked by his presence, although he seemed to have no ill intentions . . . yet. He pointed at one of the earphones you were wearing, then to his ear, silently asking you to share the music with him.
