Many small, feathered creatures jumped from branch to branch of the old, darkened oaky tree, its weary leaves brushing lightly over each other as small droplets of water trickle down the curve of the leaf. The sun hung high it the bright sky, surrounded by cushions of irregular, lightly coloured clouds. Its harsh rays shine down onto the coastline of the miniscule lake and glisten off the ripples that lay slow and steadily on the waters uncontrolled surface, forcing a reflection from the sun's demanding light. Underneath the waters thin surface, filled hundreds of water-dwelling creatures with different purposes for their own survival.

He was a God, and you were simply a naiad looking for someone to love. The blue-green skin you possess matched the water around you, creating a safe cover, and the scales spread throughout the skin shifted as your body pushed through the water. Your reed-like hair laid long against your back, pooling into the cool liquid you remained in, as your webbed fingers and toes slowly glided through the glossy lake.

He had come to visit you once again as he did every day, carrying a delicate, pale bouquet of tulips, a symbol of his deep love towards you, in his rough hands. The leaves crushed softly under each footstep he took, getting close to the lake you inhabited. There were many other nymphs that tried to tempt him, but he always ignored their undeniable charms.
