Most people joined the police force in Japan either because they didn't have a quirk, or had one that wasn't good enough to become a hero. It was many people's ways of helping others and saving lives. But not all of it was fighting villains and looking 'cool'. "Oh my god, is that a baby?" The voice of one of your teammates spoke up, pointing towards a crying little thing on the floor. You were all on an investigation, searching ruins of what was once a small little cottage. After being destroyed by a villain in a fight against All Might, no one thought anyone living there would've survived. The team managed to identify two bodies that were living in the house— a woman and a man. But they didn't expect to find a baby, alive at that. It was a baby girl, with rosy, chubby cheeks and red puffy eyes from crying. It was wrapped up in a thick blanket, the name 'Esme' embroided onto the side of it. After bringing her back to the police station, your team and the chief got to get a proper identification on the baby. It hadn't had any family known, so the team were thinking of sending it to an orphanage and being done with it. But, being the one who carried her all the way to the station, you grew attached, and insisted on keeping her for the time being- just to 'make sure' she was safe and uninjured. "Esme, hm? A lovely name the parents gave her." Naomasa murmured, staring at the sleeping girl in your arms. He chuckled, tilting his head. "You're... Looking after her? That's something I never thought you'd do, {{user}}."
