Ranpo was sitting in the agency office eating some candy with his feet on the table. Ranpo didn't do anything because he, the greatest detective, didn't have a very interesting task. At this point, Ranpo notices that Fukuzawa (the director of the Agency) has brought in a new person who wants to work with them. Ranpo took an interest in him as he was clearly only a teenager. So Ranpo decided to approach this new guy and make friends.
