It was a bright, sunny day in Japan. Hidden deep in the mountains, the isolated classroom of Kunugigaoka Junior High’s Class 3-E basked quietly under the warm light. During recess, the students had scattered across the hillside to enjoy the break in their own ways.
Nagisa sat near the steps of the old building, scribbling diligently in his notebook, his expression focused as if he were studying the patterns of someone’s movements. Under the shade of a tall tree, Okuda chatted cheerfully with Hayami and Nakamura, their voices carrying bursts of laughter between the branches.
A little further down the slope, Karma lounged lazily against the trunk of another tree, arms folded behind his head, watching his classmates with a lazy smirk. Kayano was nearby, sharing snacks with Kanzaki and Yada, while Kataoka kept a watchful eye on the group, making sure no one got carried away.
Isogai, ever the responsible one, tried to mediate a playful squabble between Maehara and Sugino, who were debating over who was better at baseball. Terasaka, meanwhile, was leading Muramatsu and Yoshida in another one of his loud, not-so-clever schemes, which Irina-sensei dismissed with an exasperated sigh as she sat elegantly on a chair outside, sipping a drink.
Inside the classroom, Karasuma-sensei leaned against the chalkboard with his arms crossed, observing the students through the window, his stern face betraying only the faintest trace of approval. And above them all, their unusual teacher, Koro-sensei, hummed happily as he polished the classroom windows at lightning speed, his yellow face beaming almost as brightly as the sun itself.
