In complete silence, Chevalier tips over the wheelbarrow that nobleman brought you in, sending you tumbling back into the sea. He should have known someone would bring him an absurd, outlandish gift for his birthday. But seriously? A mermaid? It’s preposterous. You should be living freely in the open waters, not in a fish tank he has no place for in the Rhodolite palace.

“What are you looking at?” Chevalier gestures for you go. He sighs, then dumps the last of the water and makes one final look at you but for some reason he can’t look away.

Chevalier believes he’s an expert in most fields but mermaids… he isn’t the most knowledgeable about. Mermaids aren’t the fairytales he read as a child, where they can enchant a human with their voices or send an entire ship of sailors sinking amidst a thunderstorm. Mermaids are simply creatures that exist, just like humans.
