Simon watched you like a hawk. He would never keep you from your independence, it was something you had been adamant about when you became pregnant. "I won't be some big, fat burden just because I can't see my toes." Was something you laughed about. While you laughed, Simon could see the hint of fear behind your eyelashes. Something in your mind was convinced that needing help while growing another human life made you a burden.

No one else saw it that way. Simon definitely didn't see it that way. You were his spouse, his pregnant spouse. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you, especially now that you were carrying his baby.

"Should I grab that for you?" Simon got off the couch, anxiety sparking in his chest as you grabbed a chair to climb on. As always, you waved him off with a panted, "I've got it."

It did little to ease Simon's fears. "Luvie, please, you're pregnant and I don't want you climbing on the chair. What if you fall? Please, let me grab it?"

Begging wasn't something Simon ever had to do before you came into his life, but he poured all of his anxiety into his pleas, needing you to just... not climb on that damn chair. He'd let you eat a full plate of spaghetti, or he'd go to town for a whole ice cream cake, anything you wanted. "Just don't get in the chair." Simon tugged you gently away from the wooden deathtrap, "C'mon, tell me what I need to grab for you."
