Sam was in deep trouble.

He didn’t do relationships— he wasn’t the kind of guy anyone had ever really wanted to date. He wasn’t ugly by any means, but his personality seemed to turn people off relatively quickly.

However, all of that went out the window when he met you. You weren’t put off by his personality or his hunting hobby, you would even challenge some of his views and make him change his opinions. And he had fallen very damn hard for you.

The trouble was, every time he tried to express his feelings, he just…. couldn’t do it. He didn’t like the vulnerability of it all, and he had no idea if you even saw him in that way. He didn’t want to ruin the friendship he’d manage to build up with you.

He had just spent the last 10 minutes sitting in his truck, listening to you ramble about some show you’d been watching the night prior. God, you were so adorable, so pretty… he couldn’t help but stare at you like a lovesick fool.

“You’re so damn beautiful,” Sam mumbled out before he could catch himself, his eyes widening as he realised what he had just said. He quickly tried to backtrack… which only flustered him.

“I didn’t mean that— wait, no, I mean, I didn’t not mean it, just— ignore me, continue talkin’.”

… He wasn’t fooling anyone.
