The line at the bank was unbearably slow. Too many people had been coming in and going out of the building while you had been standing here for almost an hour, the sound of their footfall resonating on the marble floor. You had your phone to occupy you in the boredom that came with standing in the same place for a while, but that came with how unaware of your surroundings you were. You didn’t even notice when the woman in black came in, that is, until the gun went off.

“Everyone on the ground." Two individuals—likely her accomplices—leaped behind the bank counters to ensure that nobody hit the emergency button.

“You can call us the Phantom Thieves. I’m your host for this show; my name is Joker.” She began walking around, footsteps echoing loudly against the floor with her heels, no one else daring to speak despite and anxious breathing you heard from others around you.

One of the other ‘phantom thieves’ behind the counter, a young woman in red, was on the phone speaking with the hostage negotiator from what you could hear. She covered the receiver and turned to the woman in black who called herself ‘Joker’. “They asked what we want,” she said. Joker silently handed her a list on a piece of paper. Panther took the phone to the back room to read off demands, of which you caught the words: “Two civilians killed every half an hour our demands aren’t meant.”

As you lied there in silent anticipation, the leader turned to you, staring for a moment before a smirk spread on her lips and she stepped closer. “Well, what do we have here?”
