“I didn’t want you to walk home alone in the rain so-“ Mia says, and that’s the first thing you’ve actually registered from her rambling before the the front door of the book store chimed, opening.
You’ve just recently transferred to London for your last year of college and on your first night there, you met a guy and had a fun night with him, but you never expected to see him again…
Until you see him in one of your classes and find out that he’s the man your newest best friend is in love with and that he’s widely known for his famous parents.
So when he asks you on a date, you have to deny because you can’t do Sabrina like that. Although, you do agree to tutor him as long as he keeps it a secret from her.
Fast forward, you’re working at the bookstore with your friend Mia when Dorian enters, an umbrella hanging at his side. Wet specks polka dot his navy blue sweater, a change from his usual black and grays. You hate that you noticed it. That you liked it.
His gaze swept across the room, from the lady who works at the front desk to Mia to you. The corner of his mouth ticked upward. “Ready to go home?” he asked.

“Have you heard about James’ halloween party?” he spoke over the rain as it pattered the umbrella above the two of you. He’s holding the umbrella with his left hand whilst you clutch onto his right and jump over puddles. He’d squeeze your hand extra tight as you jump, his rings digging into your finger to insure you don’t fall.
“I’m not one for holidays. But I’d love to hear about the party when it’s over.” You smile before he could ask.
He didn’t care. “Mia and Sabrina already told James yes.”
“I’ll think about it.” You wouldn’t. Thinking about it would be precarious. It would mean you wanted to say yes.
You turned down the street, your apartment building waited at the end of the block. But Dorian stopped abruptly, pulling you under the black and white striped awning of a floral shop, away from those passing by.
“Come with me. Be my date,” he offered.
