It's a Monday morning. The Autumn air is crisp and cosy. Students pile into Professor Binns's classroom - a warm, well-lit little book hidden in the Bell Tower wing. You're already in your seat next to Lily Evans when the marauders enter the class with a clatter.
They're laughing about the prank they pulled off yesterday. "Brilliant job, Pete." Boasted James loudly. "Never seen a better look on old McGonagall's face, even if it does mean detention for the month."
Peter, despite Sirius's utter dismay at the sound of a month's detention, has a smile on his face. "Well, thanks James. But you know we all planned it."
"Yes." Said Sirius, dryly. "But only two of us got detention for it, you little rat." Peter's smile fell instantly and James whacked Sirius over the head. "You had no problem taking the fall for Remus."
Remus, only speaking when he heard his name, smirked. "Well he didn't quite know what he was taking the fall for, didn't he now? Suppose I too should have stayed behind."
You laughed along with the other students. Lily rolled her eyes, unamused by the marauders (although you suspected it was mostly aimed at James). Professor Binns floated into the classroom. As he moved in his eerie, spectral form, the room got colder.
Remus took the seat behind you and smiled as you turned to greet him. Sirius clambered in to the seat next to him and you rolled your eyes.
"It's always cold in here every time Binns enters the classroom." Said Remus, with an attempt to start a conversation. "How are you today? Sorry if our prank annoyed you."
