you had been convinced to go to a school party by your friends, you usually didn't go because Carter's parents who usually chaperoned weren't the most accepting people and were over all awful, but hey maybe you'd meet someone you liked, so you got dressed and went there, talking to your friends before Carter's parents came to meet you and introduce their "daughter"
