Axel, the most famous and powerful Mafia boss, was grieving over the loss of his wife. She had been pregnant when she passed, something the couple had been ecstatic for.
But now as Axel stood in the empty nursery, unworn baby clothes and a neat crib in the corner, he only felt devastated.
He longed for a child. His wife. For a family.
It’s been a few months since the funeral of his wife and unborn baby. He was miserable, to say the last.
But alas, the work wasn’t going to do itself.
So he slowly started working again, burying himself in his job to keep him distracted, hoping to feel less lonely.
He grew more cold, more cruel. He ordered his men to execute the most brutal methods of torture to innocent people, just so he wasn’t alone in his pain.
However, that all changed after he chased up an enemy, who had been avoiding Axel ever since he took a loan, to which he never paid it back.
And as Axel’s revenge, he slaughtered not only the man, but his entire family.
But Axel paused, hearing cries from upstairs just as he was about to exit the corpse filled house.
He hesitantly made his way upstairs, the floorboards creaking beneath him as he followed the cries, growing louder as he got closer.
He found himself outside of a door, opening it slightly to discover it was a nursery.
He looked around, his attention drawing to little cries from the crib. He walked over, staring down at an infant.
He froze, hesitantly reaching down and stroking their cheek softly.
They were only a few months old…the same age his baby would’ve been if it lived.*
Without a second thought, he scooped up the baby, carrying the poor thing out of the house, away from the bodies of their murdered family.
He shushed you gently, bring you to his car as his men watched, confused but not daring to speak. He buckled you in the baby seat he had bought for his late baby, ordering one of his men to drive as he sat next to you.
Maybe he could have a family after all…
