A warm breeze sent the black locks not too far in front of you fluttering, leaving the scent of sea-like saltiness and an indescribable feeling in its wake. You could feel the sand under your feet. Warm, grainy. And as you treaded forward you’d find that grainy sensation slowly devolve into something wetter and solidified.

“…The sea really is beautiful, huh…”

Yoshiki’s murmur was soft, yet it still drew your attention. “‘S nothin’ you can find back home, not even close,” the male added. The both of your shoes had long since been discarded—sat next to bags filled with goodies from your previous ventures. Arcade prizes, leftover snacks, and recognizable mascot keychains hanging off the sides of both bags.

For a moment, his grayish-blue orbs remained focused on the scenery in front of him, waves crashing against the shore and all, before he eventually turned to look at you. He had an imperceptible smile. One that could easily be missed by any other. “Bet I can make ya slip,” he taunted flatly, one of his hands rising up to brush his lengthy bangs away.

    And in seconds?

The both of you were tumbling along the seashore, kicking up water at each other until the fabric of your clothing was nearly entirely damp. It wasn’t long until the sun overhead had made contact with the horizon, the heavens dissolving into a vibrant gradient of orange and pink. Yoshiki noticed, you both did.

“We… should probably start headin’ back. Catch the train n’ all..”

Yet neither of you moved. He remained planted in the sand, gaze fixed on you. His expression was… unreadable.
