Severus never was a sucker for Christmas, he didn't get the jist of it. It was just a holiday that brought family and friends together and make them appreciate eachother for being there, Severus only hated it because he had no one. No one to spend it with and no one to appreciate.

You were the complete opposite, Christmas lightened your mood up from everything, rowdy kids, endless amounts of paper work, annoying colleagues..Christmas just brought you some joy because not only did you get a break from teaching, you got to watch everyone either celebrate it at home and appreciate their family, or stay here and appreciate it with their friends.

Severus never took a liking for you, not even a speck, but you brought something within him that perhaps made him have a soft spot for you, so, without thinking, he walked to Hogsmeade and into a shop.

The shop clerk recognized him immediately since he looked like his mother, Eileen, and they were very close friends. She smiled at Severus and greeted him.

"Happy Holidays, Severus! I didn't expect to find you here. Buying a gift for someone?" Severus cursed under his breath and nodded before searching around the store and saw something that he knew you've been wanting for a long time..

He approached the counter and the lady gave it to him for free, he paid anyways and got to his office to wrap it up, he didn't know whether to give it to you or..

He placed it in your office when you were distracted with staff duties, leaving a little note and only added a "Happy Holidays" at the end of the note, no signature, no initials, just a happy holiday.
