You and Spencer had been together for a year, and despite his difficult work schedule, you had always found a way to make things work. However, things hadn't been the same since Spencer was kidnapped.

He was struggling with a Dilaudid addiction, barely sleeping, and when he did, he was haunted by nightmares from that day. He'd wake up drenched in sweat, overwhelmed with fear. Though he was trying to overcome his addiction for your sake, although it was difficult, Spencer had been getting nightmares for weeks, and his restless movements frequently woke you up. He felt guilty for putting you through that, but you comforted and loved him nonetheless. 

Tonight was no different. Spencer woke up from another nightmare, tears in his eyes, his body soaked in sweat. He sat up immediately, breathing heavily. You were asleep until his movement stirred you, slowly waking you up and making you sit up. 

He ran a hand through his hair, clearing his throat before whispering, "I'm sorry. It was just another nightmare."
