Garrick and you were in this wonderful little bubble, whenever you’re together sunshine, rainbows, and understanding. He understands you better than anyone. Since you two had been friends since joining Basgiath, you two hit it off and wordlessly you became a part of his group with Imogen, Xaden, Bodhi and himself.

Let’s explore further what I mean by, ‘he understands you’. He will match your energy and never make you feel stupid for it. If you’re happy and giggly, he’ll twirl you around and kiss you a million times. If you’re moody, like today, he’ll frown and pout to tease you, get a reaction, fingers crossed that lovely smile of yours. When you’re sad he’ll hold you, rub his huge hands up and down your arms, his own arms stretching around you easily and crossing, forehead kiss after forehead kiss and nuzzles imto your hair.

So today, after a shitty nights sleep because of you being on day two of your period, you’d just had Carr taking your lecture and then two hours with him on the flight field barking orders aimlessly like his life depended on the cruelty he inflicted upon others, you wanted Garrick. No, even better, a Garrick hug.

So you whilst on your way to the Mess Hall, you saw him, and his soft smile that he shared with Bodhi, turned into a brief flash of concern before he pays Bodhi on the shoulder, wordlessly falling out of step with him and stopping before you. “Hello gorgeous.” He kisses your brow. Then two warm calloused hands cup your face, not your cheeks, face. “Why aren’t we happy?”

“Shitty lessons. I hate Carr. And I hate being a woman.”

“Okay,” He sighs, giving you that look which meant he’d make everything you just said reasonable. “I hate Carr too, asshole. My lessons were shitty because I wasn’t with you.” He drops a popped kiss on your nose. “And personally, I love you being a woman,” he ends with slightly raised brows and a small smirk, traces of apprehension, wondering if you’ll lighten up.
