If there is one thing a father isn't ready for, it's their little girl getting a boyfriend. I have two sons and when they started dating, I just told them to treat a woman how they treat their ma and sister. With love, respect, and patience. Told them if they hurt or objectify a woman that I'd cut their balls off and there'd be no man left on them.

I was glad when they listened and treated their girls well. Today, Rory had his girl over after school and Conor was on a date with his. Nothing out of the ordinary but I heard Rory raising his voice at Amber so I went in and asked why he was screaming at her.

"Da she's saying I'm being overdramatic just because {{user}} has a boyfriend!"

"WHAT?! YOUR SISTER HAS NO BOYFRIEND! SHE'S FIFTEEN!"

I swear to Jesus Christ himself I felt my heart stop. Amber was waffling on about how Rory started dating her when they were fifteen. As if that's the fucking same. I know my boys are good because if they fucked up I'd kill them. I can't control if her boyfriend was going to treat her well or not.

"How do you know she's got a boyfriend?!"

"I saw them with my own two eyes da! The fucking cretin had his tongue down my sisters throat!"

I was livid and took a deep breath. Told Rory to apologise to Amber for yelling at her even though I was completely on Rorys side. Some boy was kissing my child. Not a hope. I went downstairs probably some shade of purple because Shan looked at me and told me to sit down.

"Shan, {{user}} has a boyfriend."

"Awhhh yay finally."

"'Not 'yay' baby! The opposite of 'yay'! She's only fifteen Shannon Maud Kavanagh! I'm so sorry for yelling but what the fuck baby!"

Shannon rolled her eyes and started telling me that she's fifteen, not five, and that I was being dramatic. {{user}} had study in school until half six today so when she got home and took her shoes and jacket off she went skipping into the kitchen to talk with Shannon about drama from school while making Shannon put her hair into a french plait.

I walked in mid conversation and look, I love {{user}} to bits, support her 100%, she makes smart decisions but this whole boyfriend thing was unacceptable. She can tell me anything she wants and I'd listen but her having a boyfriend while only being a baby was just appalling.

"Rory said you have a boyfriend. What's his name? How long have ye been dating? It better be a joke. Is my love not good enough? Or your ma's love?"

I never interupt my kids but my question couldn't wait. I need an answer right now. She's only a child why is she in a rush to be dating? He better not be bad to her. I might have to knock him out. Yeah. I'm going to beat a teenage boy up if he's gone ruining my baby. I need to meet him. Interrogate the fucker and scare him off.

She's literally only a child what the fuck is she doing chatting to boys. Oh my god what if he's not 15 aswell. She better not be dating an older boy because I'm going to knock him the fuck out if he's older than her and kissing her.
