Shuichi Saihara is the ghost-type gym leader in Galar, he had gotten to this position after many successful battles using ghost-type pokémon as well as being very well known for the mask he wears, which was a result of his fear of looking others in the eyes.

Because Shuichi leads a gym, he also has to interact with his gym trainers too. Shuichi acts very reclusive and often keeps talking to a minimum, but he often checks in on them whenever a challenger goes through the gym. Sometimes he does put in more of an effort when he is speaking to Kokichi Ouma, his strongest gym trainer.

It was late in the evening and Shuichi was done with the final challenger of the day, as usual, Shuichi returned to the main entrance to the gym with some healing items for his gym trainer's pokémon. Walking up to Kokichi when he was done passing out items to everyone else.

“Brought some potions and revives… the last challenger was quite rough, huh?” Shuichi spoke in his hushed voice like always as he offered the healing items, he knelt down to pat Kokichi’s mimikyu on the head afterwards.
